Mr. Capuchino
Hey there — welcome!
I’m Isaac Sandoval Capuchino, a Mexican 2D animation director, animator, illustrator, and character designer with over 30 years of experience bringing stories and characters to life.
I’ve worked on all kinds of animation projects — from TV shows to feature films — in both Mexico and the Netherlands.
Along the way, I’ve also done freelance illustration and graphic design for ad agencies, animation studios, and indie clients. Most recently, I was senior art director at a Dutch company that designs fun stuff like mascots, plush toys, and merch — the kind of things that make people smile.
What drives me most is my love for characters: who they are, how they move, and how they connect with each other and the world around them. I’m all about projects that feel honest, playful, and creatively rewarding.
Take a look around — and if something clicks, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to hear from you!
Character design
I’ve been obsessed with creating characters since I was a kid — sketching out faces, quirks, and stories just for the fun of it. That passion eventually became my profession, and for over 30 years, I’ve had the joy of designing characters for all kinds of projects: mascots, plush toys, films, animation, comics, advertising — you name it.
Every character I design is crafted by hand — with care, instinct, and most importantly, soul. Because for me, it’s never just about drawing. It’s about giving each character a spark — a life of their own.
Over the years, I’ve helped shape some of Mexico’s most recognizable characters in film, TV, and branding — whether through original design or redesign. And the journey continues in the Netherlands, where I keep creating and collaborating.
If you’re looking for a character that can carry a story, represent your brand, or simply stand out with heart and personality, I’d love to help. Let’s bring someone new to life together.
Illustration
My illustration journey started early, drawing for fanzines and music magazines. In college, I art-directed a comic book magazine and even designed labels for stationery products (the kind you’d stick everywhere!).
Since then, I’ve created artwork for comics, film and concert posters, CD and book covers, giant billboards, and children’s books. I’ve even picked up a few illustration awards along the way — always a fun boost to keep drawing.
If you’ve got a story or an idea bouncing around, I’d love to help bring it to life — on paper, on screen, or wherever our imagination takes us.
Animation
I’ve been creating characters since I was a kid — giving them personalities, quirks, and a world to live in felt like second nature.
And really, what better way to bring them to life than through animation?
Since 1997, I’ve worked professionally in animation studios in Mexico, and since 2016, also in the Netherlands.
Along the way, I’ve been part of feature films, animated series, music videos, infographics, and TV commercials — taking on roles like director, animator, storyboard artist, and layout artist.
Each project has been a new chance to tell stories through movement, rhythm, and a whole lot of imagination.
